Coastal Guides from the Air The Normandy Coast from the Air Cap de la Hague to Cap Frehel
Many yachtsmen have found the benefit of Google Earth as a way of familiarizing themselves with intended ports and marinas. But Google Earth won’t give you leading lines, transits, and port information.

Jeremy Greenaway writes:
After years of speculation, planning, and legal challenges, work on the construction of the long-awaited yacht marina at Roscoff in Brittany finally got under way at Easter. The 22 million Euros scheme was forced back into the melting pot last year by environmental lobbyists who objected to a perceived incursion into two Natura sites and a threat to marine life. But at a final appeal court hearing last month, a judge rejected their arguments and cleared the way for the construction work to begin. Completion is due in 2012, when 625 berths for pleasure craft plus separate facilities for commercial fishermen will be provided in a haven protected by a curving outer breakwater of stone to the south of the existing Roscoff ferry port. |
