On Sunday 14th June, 26 year old solo sailor, Hannah White, became the first woman and fourth skipper overall to cross the finish line of the 2009 OSTAR (Original Single-handed Trans Atlantic Race). As a sponsored Helly Hansen athlete, Hannah was kept warm, dry and protected throughout the duration of the race with kit provided by the global performance sportswear brand.The gruelling race saw Hannah crossing the 3,000 nautical miles from Plymouth to Newport, Rhode Island existing on minimal sleep whilst encountering thick fog, stormy seas and strong winds.
