C A logoVeteran cruising sailor Stuart Bradley has been appointed President of the Cruising Association, succeeding Sir Robin Knox-Johnston C.B.E.

Sir Robin has accepted a new position as 'Patron' of the Cruising Association. He was "very honoured" to accept and looks forward to continuing his involvement with the Association's 3,500 members. The appointment took effect from the AGM on 2 December. As Patron, Sir Robin will reflect the values of the CA and maintain a close relationship with the Association as a figurehead and ambassador.

Incoming President, Stuart Bradley said "we're very grateful to Robin for his continued support for the Cruising Association. He has been very much involved in the running of the organisation during the past two years and we look forward to a continued beneficial relationship with him in this new role."

Stuart Bradley was Vice President and Chairman of the CA Council during Sir Robin's Presidency. Stuart has been sailing for over 30 years and, following five years exploring the Baltic Sea, recently moving his 36ft Cromarty motor-sailer to Croatia. He said, "The Cruising Association is working hard to develop its web-based services to members, along with such improvements as an increased range of discounts on goods and services available to members from commercial organisations. The Association has a promising future and I welcome the opportunity of helping to move it into a position of being the unchallenged premier organisation for cruising sailors both in the UK and abroad."
